Where I want to Be

We are in a better place than we were a year ago. People that have my back surround me. People that are humble, caring, nice, forgiving, and most importantly people that know that we all have warts, and flaws, that know we are not perfect, yet still love us. For the first time in my life, I know true community. Community that shares in our troubles, community that you can bare your soul and not be condemned, or talked about when you are not around. A place that is safe and people that are safe with your “dirt”. This last year, 2006-2007, has been about learning that not everyone is safe, even family members and long time friends may not be safe to confide in. When you confide in people that are not safe, you are throwing your pearls before swine. I have also learned how easy it is to do these thing; how easy is it to gossip and spread things that aren’t ours to spread. I have learned that I must surround my inner circle with people that are safe. People that will gracefully redirect me when I get off course.

So…thanks to my new family that does not hold grudges, is safe, and genuinely interested in who I am and what I am about.
